Free-Standing 6' x 12' Pergola with Roof (5 Options) - Kit for 6x6 Wood

Wood - Lumber is a) very expensive to ship and b) readily available to most people at local home improvement and building supply stores. By buying your wood locally, you also have more options on the exact type of wood you'd like that is appropriate for your area's climate.

Anchoring Hardware - While this pergola kit does include stainless steel wood screws for securing 4x4" wood posts into the brackets, it does not include anchoring hardware for securing the base brackets into a secure base (i.e. cement pad, deck, landscape toppers, concrete footing, etc.). This is because the anchoring hardware you need will vary based on a) what type of material you're going into and b) local building codes.

As noted above, wood (lumber) is NOT included in this pergola bracket kit (nor is the hardware you'll need to anchor the base brackets). Before building your pergola, you'll need to purchase the following items from a local building supply store or lumber yard (assuming the pergola will be 8' tall):

• Six (6) 8' long 6x6 posts
• Two (2) 12' long 6x6 posts
• IF you choose a roof style with wood slats:
  • - Five to sixteen (5-16) 8' long 2x6 slats, or
  • - three to six (3-6) 8' long 6x6 posts
      (depending on your roof style selection)
• Anchoring hardware (16 pieces)

The estimated cost for the above lumber and anchoring hardware is $519 - $776 (depending on which slatted roof option you choose & whether you check the 'Add more roof brackets for more shade' box just below the roof style options) — OR — approximately $476 if you choose either the No Roof (Frame Only) or Shade Canopy roof style (neither of which has wood roof slats). This is only an estimate; actual costs may vary depending on the type of wood you buy, your location, local stores & availability, and various other factors.
