Zen Pergolas Photo Gallery

The Zen Pergolas Gallery is the perfect place to find inspiration and ideas for how you may want to design your own outdoor wooden pergola. There are dozens of pergola retailers out there, each with their own spin on how a pergola should be built & designed. But no other pergola manufacturer can bring your pergola ideas to life quite like Zen Pergolas can! We believe that the pergola for your back patio should be your own and unique to you. View the gallery below for ideas of how you might design your wood pergola.

Customized Single Pergola Kit with 6x6 Posts

With a few small upgrades to this single freestanding kit, this customer made their pergola truly unique! An extra post was added to the back wall of the pergola by adding 1 6x6 4-Post Bracket and a privacy wall was added to both sides of that post. In order to do this, they also needed to purchase 1 extra wall mount bracket and 1 extra base bracket. The customer also added a privacy wall to just one of the sides of the pergola (most likely the side with more sun).

This pergola is truly one-of-a-kind but can easily be replicated with the products highlighted in this picture!

Single Freestanding 6x6 Kit with 1 Privacy Wall

This pergola looks absolutely stunning! This customer purchased a standard 6x6 freestanding kit with close spacing and 1 privacy wall. You can purchase this exact same kit by clicking on the link below!

Although you can't see the base brackets (since the posts were inserted into planter boxes) we still suggest using base brackets for added strength and stability for your pergola.

Traditional Wall-Mounted Pergola w/ Overhanging Purlins

We love how this customer seamlessly tied their Zen Pergola into their already existing patio cover. Add a few plants & lights and you have a patio worth showing off to friends & neighbors!

One difference you might notice between this customer's pergola and the pergola we link to below is the design added at the end of each purlin. This isn't necessary at all but may add a nice touch if you have the tools & time to do this.

Multiple-Level Freestanding Pergola

At first, this pergola may look to be a standard double freestanding pergola, but upon closer examination you can see that each block of the pergola is actually at different heights. With our brackets, this is easily achievable.

First, the customer purchased a small single pergola with inline slatted roof. They also purchased a small attached pergola kit with inline slatted roof. But rather than attaching to the house, they just attached it to the other pergola a foot or so below the other. Well done, Larry! The Pergola looks fantastic!

Freestanding Pergola w/ Canopy

Okay, this customer purchased a freestanding pergola from us before we had canopies available. But you can now buy a canopy from Zen Pergolas that is made specifically for your size of pergola. Click here to learn more.

This customer also chose to build a pergola with a privacy wall on the back. We love how they also painted the pergola black while keeping the inline purlins natural!

Attached Pergola w/ Angled Privacy Wall

Covering a hot tub is a popular thing to do with a pergola and that's exactly what this customer chose to do! They painted the wood black to match the brackets and the trim on their house. The pergola looks fantastic!

If you like the look of this pergola you can do it for yourself by purchasing the following kit...

Attached 4x4 Pergola w/ Center Purlin

We really like how this customer chose to add a center purlin going out from the house. Of course, this is just an illusion as the purlins going the same direction of the house are really what's adding strength to the roof. This look can be accomplished with just 2 extra 2x4 insert brackets.

The customer also added support beams on 2 corners. Although they didn't use our brackets, we do offer support brackets to make this process easier.
