• More Info About Kit: This DIY kit for building a pergola anchored to the back deck will accommodate any attached pergola ranging from 13-24 feet wide (attached to the house) by 4-12 feet deep (out from the house). The deck-mounted pergola does not need to be exactly 24' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 60 2x6 insert brackets . While the images on this page show that 28 of these brackets are used to add 14 straight inline roof rafters to your pergola (7 rafters to each of the two roof sections, both a 12' span with standard spacing between rafters) and the remaining 32 brackets are used to add two privacy walls with 8 slats each (both 8' tall with standard spacing between slats), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, installing the roof rafters and/or wall slats at an angle, etc.). You can also purchase additional 2x6 insert brackets here .
