The wood pergola with black brackets does not need to be exactly 24' x 24' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 42 2x6 rafter brackets . While the images on this page show that all 42 brackets are used to add 14 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (each rafter running the full 24' width, with standard spacing between rafters), you can use the brackets any way you'd like .
