• More Info About Kit: This back-yard pergola kit will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 25-36 feet by 4-12 feet . The 8-post freestanding pergola does not need to be exactly 36' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 42 2x6 rafter brackets so you can add 21 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (7 rafters over each of the three roof sections, all a 12' span with standard spacing between rafters). It also includes 16 2x6 insert brackets so you can add one privacy wall with 8 slats (8' tall with standard spacing between slats). If desired, you could reduce the number of slats on the privacy wall and use some of the insert brackets to add a side railing or another full/partial privacy wall. You can also purchase additional 2x6 insert brackets here .
