• More Info About Kit: This bracket & hardware kit for a backyard pergola will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 13-24 feet by 13-24 feet . The pergola for backyard shade does not need to be exactly 24' x 24' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 100 4x4 insert brackets . While the images on this page show that 48 of these brackets are used to add 24 square inline 4x4 roof rafters to your pergola (6 rafters to each of the four roof sections, all a 12' span with standard spacing between rafters) and the remaining 52 brackets are used to add two privacy walls with 13 square 4x4 slats each (both 8' tall with standard spacing between slats), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, etc.). You can also purchase additional 4x4 insert brackets here .
