• More Info About Kit: This extra-long pergola kit will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 25-36 feet by 4-12 feet . The long & narrow pergola does not need to be exactly 36' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 90 2x4 insert brackets . While the images on this page show that 30 of these brackets are used to add 15 straight inline roof rafters to your pergola (5 rafters to each of the three roof sections, all a 12' span with far spacing between rafters) and the remaining 60 brackets are used to add three privacy walls with 10 slats each (all 8' tall with far spacing between slats), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, installing the roof rafters and/or wall slats at an angle, etc.). You can also purchase additional 2x4 insert brackets here .
• Required Lumber and Cost: As noted above, wood (lumber) is NOT included in this DIY kit for building a long rectangular pergola, nor is the hardware you'll need to anchor the base brackets to a secure foundation.
