• More Info About Kit: This DIY kit for building a pergola for a small space will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 4-12 feet wide by 4-12 feet deep . The small-size pergola does not need to be exactly 12' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 14 2x4 rafter brackets so you can add 7 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (covering a span of 12' with standard spacing between rafters). It also includes 26 2x4 insert brackets so you can add one privacy wall with 13 slats (8' tall with standard spacing between slats). If desired, you could reduce the number of slats on the privacy wall and use some of the insert brackets to add a side railing or another full/partial privacy wall. You can also purchase additional 2x4 insert brackets here .
