• More Info About Kit: This hardware kit for building a wood pergola will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 25-36 feet by 4-12 feet . The simple DIY pergola does not need to be exactly 36' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 42 2x4 rafter brackets . While the images on this page show that all 42 brackets are used to add 21 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (7 rafters over each of the three roof sections, all a 12' span with standard spacing between rafters), you can use the brackets any way you'd like . You can also purchase additional 2x4 rafter brackets here .
