• More Info About Kit: This pergola kit for a small backyard pergola will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 4-12 feet by 4-12 feet . The small shade pergola does not need to be exactly 12' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 22 2x6 insert brackets . While the images on this page show that 10 of these brackets are used to add 5 straight inline roof rafters (covering a span of 12' with far spacing between rafters) and the remaining 12 brackets are used to add one privacy wall with 6 slats (8' tall with far spacing between slats), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, installing the roof rafters and/or wall slats at an angle, etc.). You can also purchase additional 2x6 insert brackets here .
