Overview

This privacy wall kit utilizes two 4x4 insert brackets to create a horizontal bottom 4x4 post, together with multiple 2x4 insert brackets to insert a series of vertical 2x4 slats between the bottom 4x4 post and the beam across the top of the pergola. This creates a very unique privacy wall (aka shade wall) with vertical slats (rather than the traditional horizontal slats) on one side of the pergola (which can be installed straight or rotated at an angle, depending on your preference).

Span, Spacing & Brackets

The following table shows how many 2x4 insert brackets are included (together with stainless steel screws & black screw covers) based on the horizontal span of the wall (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 feet) and spacing option (far, medium or close spacing) you choose.

Additionally, the kit will include 2 4x4 insert brackets to install the bottom horizontal 4x4 post.

¹ Horiz. Span is the distance from outside edge to outside edge (including brackets) of the side of the pergola where the privacy wall will be installed.

² Spacing is approximate and denotes the amount of space between the 2x4 slats (not on-center spacing). These calculations assume the vertical slats are inserted straight (not rotated at an angle) with the 3.5-inch side facing out to create more privacy & shade.
