Overview
This privacy wall kit utilizes two 6x6 insert brackets to create a horizontal bottom 6x6 post, together with multiple 2x6 insert brackets to insert a series of vertical 2x6 slats between the bottom 6x6 post and the beam across the top of the pergola. This creates a very unique privacy wall (aka shade wall) with vertical slats (rather than the traditional horizontal slats) on one side of the pergola (which can be installed straight or rotated at an angle, depending on your preference).

The following table shows how many 2x6 insert brackets are included (together with stainless steel screws & black screw covers) based on the horizontal span of the wall (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 feet) and spacing option (far, medium or close spacing) you choose.
Additionally, the kit will include 2 6x6 insert brackets to install the bottom horizontal 6x6 post.

¹ Horiz. Span is the distance from outside edge to outside edge (including brackets) of the side of the pergola where the privacy wall will be installed.
² Spacing is approximate and denotes the amount of space between the 2x6 slats (not on-center spacing). These calculations assume the vertical slats are inserted straight (not rotated at an angle) with the 5.5-inch side facing out to create more privacy & shade.
What's Not Included?
Wood - Lumber is a) very expensive to ship and b) readily available to most people at local home improvement and building supply stores. By buying your wood locally, you also have more options on the exact type of wood you'd like that is appropriate for your area's climate.
Base & Corner Brackets - The 2 base brackets and 2 corner 3-arm brackets shown in these images are for illustration purposes only. They are not included in this kit.
