• More Info About Kit: This DIY kit for building your own wood pergola will accommodate any attached pergola ranging from 25-36 feet wide (attached to house) by 4-12 feet deep (out from the house). The DIY wood pergola does not need to be exactly 36' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 28 2x4 rafter brackets so you can add 7 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (each rafter running the full 36' width and covering all 3 roof sections, with standard spacing between rafters). It also includes 26 2x4 insert brackets so you can add one privacy wall with 13 slats (8' tall with standard spacing between slats). If desired, you could reduce the number of slats on the privacy wall and use some of the insert brackets to add a side railing or another full/partial privacy wall. You can also purchase additional 2x4 insert brackets here .
