• More Info About Kit: This DIY covered pergola kit will accommodate any free-standing pergola ranging from 8-12 feet wide by 8-12 feet deep . The beautiful backyard pergola does not need to be exactly 12' x 12' like in the images on this page. The kit includes a premium quality charcoal gray shade canopy to cover the pergola, available in your choice of 6 size options: 8x8, 8x10, 8x12, 10x10, 10x12 or 12x12. The canopy is made of fade-resistant 180 GSM High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) knitted fabric that blocks up to 95% of UV rays and is permeable to prevent rain from pooling on top. Each side of the shade canopy has 4 straps to keep it tight and prevent drooping. The kit also includes all necessary corner and side accessory mounts (including screws) to secure the shade canopy straps to the corner brackets and beams of the pergola. The kit also includes 26 2x4 insert brackets . While the images on this page show that all 26 brackets are used to add one privacy wall with 13 slats (8' tall with standard spacing between slats), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, adding roof rafters below the shade canopy, etc.). You can also purchase additional 2x4 insert brackets here .
