• More Info About Kit: This shade pergola kit will accommodate any attached pergola ranging from 4-12 feet wide (attached to house) by 13-24 feet deep (out from the house). The covered pergola does not need to be exactly 12' x 24' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 44 2x4 rafter brackets so you can add 22 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (11 rafters over each of the two roof sections, both a 12' span with closely-spaced rafters). It also includes 40 2x4 insert brackets so you can add one privacy wall with 20 slats (8' tall with closely spaced slats). If desired, you could reduce the number of slats on the privacy wall and use some of the insert brackets to add a side railing or another full/partial privacy wall. You can also purchase additional 2x4 insert brackets here .
