While the intent is that 32 of these brackets be used to install 16 angled roof slats (12' span with close spacing) and the remaining 28 be used for one privacy wall with 14 angled slats (8' height with close spacing), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, increasing the number of slats in a roof/wall section, etc.).
