• More Info About Kit: This 4x4 steel bracket kit will accommodate any attached pergola ranging from 4-12 feet wide (attached to house) by 13-24 feet deep (out from the house). The 4x4 frame modern wood pergola does not need to be exactly 12' x 24' like in the images on this page. The kit includes 28 2x4 rafter brackets so you can add 14 traditional roof rafters atop the beams of the pergola (7 rafters over each of the two roof sections, both a 12' span with standard spacing between rafters). It also includes 52 2x4 insert brackets so you can add two privacy walls with 13 slats each (both 8' tall with standard spacing between slats). If desired, you could reduce the number of slats on the privacy walls and use some of the insert brackets to add a side railing or another full/partial privacy wall. You can also purchase additional 2x4 insert brackets here .
